Spinning starmap

when I ask sky Safari to connect to my mount, the starmap starts spinning around Polaris. There seems to be no way to stop it. I hoped clicking on the align button with Polaris selected would stop it but it did not.

Please note that Sky Safari is communicating with the mount via a software interface called EQMac, which is the Mac version of the ASCOM based EQMOD telescope software for Windows.

thank you,

Jim

    Jim,

I have no idea what is going on.  Why are you using EQMac?  Isn't your scope one we talk to natively?

Is time flowing at a faster rate than realtime while this is happening?  If Polaris is centered on the screen and time is flowing at (say) an hour per step, then the chart will rotate like you are describing.

Normally, when you connect to a scope we set the time to "Now" and the time flow to realtime.
