Read this post first | This forum is for discussing Android tablet performance

Not all Android tablets are made equal.  You often get what you pay for.  We are often asked to recommend an Android tablet for SkySafari.  This is a question best answered by the SkySafari community.  So, in this forum please rate, review, recommend (if you want) your Android tablet regarding its overall performance.  Which model is it?  Approximately how much did it cost?  Would you buy it again.

Please create a NEW post in this forum when discussing your Android tablet.  Please put the model number of your tablet in the post title.  With that further discussion, Q & A, can be easily applied to specific models.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience on this subject.

I am a registered Developer for Android and so had a great opportunity to get what I considered then and still consider now the best Android Tablet available .. Google's PIXEL C with nVidia's Tegra X1 SoC, 3Gb RAM, 64Gb ROM .. that was 1.5 years ago. It is still ahead of it's time and was improved even more with Android 7 Nougat and the Vulkan Rendering Engine incorporated into the operating system. I would highly recommend it still today. It is currently running on Android 8 quite beautifully.

Thanks so much Andrew! Would you mind reposting your reply as a NEW post in this forum, with the model as the title of the post? This way discussions can be easily created around specific models, if required. Apologies for not asking this before. Really appreciate your feedback!

I use SkySafari 5 Pro on a Samsung Galaxy Tab SM-T337A, with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.2 GHz Quad-Core, 1.5GB RAM; 16GB ROM, running Android 5.5.1. SS 5 Pro runs quite well on the tablet - I have no complaints. I think the tablet cost around $150.
