Does sky safari work with Losmandy Gemini 2 via IP/ internet? Since they are on the same local network, seems logic this could work if the software supports it.

Bill Tschumy David,
To be honest, I'm not 100% sure. I think we have had reports of this working. You should just need to fill in the IP address of the Gemini 2 and the port number it is listening on. I don't see any reason this wouldn't work.
Hopefully another user can chime in with a more definitive answer.

Hans de Moor This works. The main advantage is that along with being able to use Sky Safari, you also can open a web browser and connect to the Gemini web server so you can get to all the features of the mount, in many ways more conviniently than using the mount's own hand controller.
i coonect the mount to my laptop and run a freeware program called wifiscope, or I connect a raspberry pi set up as a wifi access point and use an ethernet cable to connect the raspberry pi to the mount.
If your mount is diectly connected to your network via ethernet then it works really well. You just can't put a wifi adapter directly into the usb port of the mount because the mount can't drive the adapter directly.
