5 plus: shuts down when editing observing list

On both my iPad and iPhone (10.2.1), SS5 Plus shuts down when I try to rearrange any of the 16 objects in my observing list. Is this user error, a bug, or a "feature"?

To reproduce, select list, press edit. Then drag/drop an item in the list.  SS5 Plus shuts down immediately and returns to home screen.

Thanks.

Well, obviously it is not a "feature".

I supposedly fixed this bug two releases ago.  Are you sure you are running 5.3.2?  I just submitted a 5.3.3 today so another update is coming soon.

I suspected it was not a feature ;-)

Yes, I am running latest version that has been released through the App Store (though I don't know how to display the version number). Also, it may be relevant that I use the iCloud storage feature.

Look at the bottom of the Help screen for the version number.

The bug was very hard to reproduce so I wasn't totally sure my change fixed it.  However, another user that was having the problem claimed it was fixed for him.  It may be more subtle than I thought.

I will take a look at it.  I tried a bit to reproduce your problem but could not get a crash.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you are running iOS 10.2.1 on your devices?  The current release is 10.3.2.  It is possible the app will behave better there.

I prefer to let iOS upgrades season a bit before loading.

OK, I've taken the plunge and updated to iOS 10.3 2. Running latest SS5 Plus version 5.3.3.0.

Still having crashes when I edit an observing list.

I wonder if the problem lies in the list(s)?  I could email one that will positively crash my iPad if it would help.

Sure, you could send me the list.  It is possible that the crash is something different than what I think I've fixed.

You could also make a new observing list and see if that crashes as well.  Show the built-in Messier list and choose "Make Observing List" at the bottom.

Yep. The issue seems to be related to my list. The newly created Messier list edits just fine.

How do I send you my list?
