SN7 CSAP cannot update

Hello,

SN 7 CSAP will download the update but refuses to install it on my computers working with Window 10 and Windows 8.1.

The following text is shown after the installation failure:

Patch failed to apply to this file: C:\Programfiles(x86)\Starry Night CSAP 7\StarryNight.exe.
Because that file failed to patch, and there's no "catch-all" update to download, the update failed to apply.
The failure to patch usually happens because the file was modified from the original version. Reinstall the original version of this app.
Internal erro: End of stream reached with 376 byte left to read.
Click finish to exit.

That's il folks. I just have to start from the beginning.

I have the same problem. I tried reinstalling the original version from my disc, as suggested, to no avail.

I have this problem with Windows 7.  It looks like Support picked up Marcel's issue as a private ticket but I don't see a reply to the problem.

The end of the diagnostic message says: Internal error. End of stream reached with 376 bytes left to read.

The download (500+M) ran for quite awhile on a 4G internet connection before it failed. I don't want to try it again and start using up my monthly Gig allowance if this is a known bug with the download or the patch update.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Margaret,

Please delete the current CSAP 7 and then download a new CSAP 7 installer using your download links (check your email for the PO).  The CSAP 7 download is 1.3 GB.  If you do not want to use your monthly gig allowance I suggest taking your computer to a coffeeshop (i.e. Starbucks) and downloading from there.  Once reinstalled you will be running the latest version, and the update issue will be resolved.

    Thanks!

What you seem to be telling me is that the order I placed to get this software on DVD got me a bad version that can't be updated to current maintenance/patching levels, Is that correct?

I am running this from a workstation (a real computer) so "taking it to a coffee shop with WIFI" is not an option. Even if I had a laptop, I would never hook it up to a public WIFI site for security reasons (this computer is also used for work).

The reason I ordered this on DVD is to avoid using up my monthly gig allowance. Trying to download the maintenance used up half a gig and failed with an internal error, so that was a dead loss. Now I get to start from scratch to download the full  product file? The full software download says it's nearly 1-1/2 gig and will take over an hour even with no other internet activity. I noticed that the patch list showed enough bugs that I wanted to get them fixed. Will the new download at least be up to current maintenance?
