Folks, any chance of Siri or Cortana for Starrynight integration?
AP used to have software to move the mount by voice commands.
It would be nice to have basic functionality such as slew to M13 voice enabled.
Cheers

Phil,
We hope to do something along these lines for SkySafari 6
Bill,
Very cool. Looking forward to it.

How cool would it be to be standing at your scope and say "Hey Siri ... slew to M51" and your scope does it!
I would die a happy man!

We need to figure out how to do this without using Siri. Siri requires an internet connection which most people don't have when out in the field. There are some transcription packages that work locally with a small set of commands. We are going to try those.
EXCELLENT IDEA. I often find it a pain on the small screen of a phone to FIND the object I want to then TAP for a goto. It would be neat to say "FIND M42" and have SS6 "find it" then "SLEW TO M42" to go to. SURELY - hey siri slew to M42 (hands free would be BEST). I'd not even need to touch the phone/app.
WOW that's a killer idea. I only use it for imaging with a scope present. Something like this would be well worth paying for a upgrade, or even the pro version!
We have added vice control to SkySafari 6. It is still a bit flaky at times. iOS doesn't know how to transcribe many names.
Doing "GoTo Zubenelschemali" is a total fail ;-)
Yeah that's a given... mine has a hard enough time to "directions home". Google works so much better than siri.
I rarely need to go to a star. (weird names). I'd be pretty content with M #'s. and NGC #'s. Or even sun, moon, planet names.
it should handle that.
