Alignment Problems with Sky Safari Pro with Celestron 9.25" Evolution

Hello, in the Sky Portal app, I have a 3 star alignment option. However, when I've connected to my scope with Sky Safari and go to align using sky align, it never gives me the 1 star aligned, 2 star aligned etc result. It changes state from the first stage of alignment where you press "enter", then the movement rate slows for fine alignment then you press "align", but it never locks anything in.  It always just says 0 of 3 stars aligned. So I can't actually use the scope in goto mode.

Thanks very much for your help!

    Aaron,

This is the first I've heard of this behavior.  Just to be clear, you are using the "Celestron Wi-Fi" scope type and have set the alignment mode to SkyAlign (the default), right?

I will have to ask Celestron if they have any ideas about what could be causing this.

    Aaron,

The engineer I work with at Celestron asks you to contact Celestron Support about this.  He just tried an alignment on an Evolution with SkySafari and it went through the whole alignment properly.

    Thanks Bill,

Yes, its very strange. It has been working flawlessly for many months and I only ever used the app. The problem also occurred with the Sky Portal app AND the handset.

Anyway, I did a hard reset on the handset and the telescope and it seems to be working now. I have just done a test align in the house to see if it locked in the alignment and it did, so it seems to be all sorted. For the moment!

    Thanks gain for your reply.
