GRS Rise and Set times

Currently only Jupiter's GRS transit time is shown and only for future events. If the transit time has just passed, the GRS will still be visible, but SkySafari/Starry Night only shows the next transit time some 9hrs in the future.

A mechanism is requested to indicate when/if the GRS is currently visible. Either include rise/set times for the GRS (similar to Jupiter moon events) or display the "current" transit time, even if just passed, until the GRS is out of view.

I'm curious why you care exactly when the previous transit time was.  Most people just want to know when the GRS will be visible and if it is already visible, then they don't care when it transited.

Right now, the Object Info only shows data for right now or in the future.  It would probably significantly slow it down if we had to scan backwards for events in the past.

If you really want to see this, you can always back time up an hour or two and look at the Info then to see when the "next" transit will be.

I don't mean to minimize your request, but we have a lot on our plate and have to prioritize.  I don't think this is likely to make it into a release in the near future, but I'll keep it in mind.

Perhaps i wasn't clear. You write "Most people just want to know when the GRS will be visible and if it is already visible, then they don't care when it transited." That is basically what i am asking. I want to know if the GRS is visible right now. The transit time is the only data (although the image might show it).

So, i my request then is to show current/future data that would indicate if the GRS is visible. I think that would imply rise, transit and set times. for current/future events.

What I do is just select Jupiter, center it and zoom in to see if the GRS is visible.  We do correctly show the GRS on the image on Jupiter in the software.
