SkiFi 3 extended range using Serial over Cat5 extender

I want to know if I can extend the range of my serial port from my telescope mount with Tripp Lite B165-101 RS-232 / Serial over Cat5 Extender Transmitter + Receiver and then connect SkiFi-3. Will my SkiFi-3 work as nicely as it currently does with a short serial cable. I control my telescope with an IPAD using the local wifi signal generated by the SkiFi-3 and SkySafari 5

  I'm afraid I don't know.  I haven't tried this myself.  I suspect it should work but no guarantees.

  Bill I am going to give it a try.  My hope is to move the telescope control SkiFi -3 unit inside the warm/comfortable house, a distance of 175ft from my telescope. I will let you know what happens.
