Hide Object below the horizon

It would be nice in Observing lists or object lists, to hide all those currently below the horizon.

This could be done in an advanced search, if we could limit the search to certain observing lists or catalogs.

You can tell which objects are below the horizon by noticing if the name is in white text of grey (or brighter red and rim red in night vision).  You can also sort the observing list by altitude which will put all those above the horizon in one grouping.

Advanced Search will always search the entire database (limited to the object types you've selected.  It does not search within lists.

I know about the greyed out text and sorting by altitude, but that's still a little messier than what I'd like.  Sometimes I like to sort the object by different things, and I still have all those greyed out objects clutter up the list.

We can consider it.  I don't generally like UIs where things are hidden with some sort of user switch.  Inevitably, it generates all sorts of user tickets asking where all their objects went.

I was using Sky Safari Pro last night on my iPad, working through the AL Deep Sky Binocular list. I had the list sorted to "Set Time" and then used the List icon on the bottom of the star field display to take me to the next object -- it would be nice to have "next object" skip objects on the list that are below the horizon.

    Jeff,

That change will be made in SkySafari 6.

Great! I often sort Tonight's Best according to azimuth. In this way I can move from object to object without waiting for my Dobson to turn. "Next" is not so useful right now because so many objects are below the horizon, and I have to look at the list myself to pick out the next visible object.

It would be even greater to be able to hide objects that are currently covered by opaque pixels in my custom panorama - but I know that this is a very specialized need.
