User Defined Stars

To Whom This May Concern,

I have recently purchased SkySafari Pro for Android. I have been unable to find the star KIC 9832227, a contact binary, in the database. My reason for interest is that it is expected to merge in the year 2022 resulting in a red nova. If this star is not in the SkySafari database, is there any way to add it in. Please Help.

Thank You,

Jerome

That star doesn't appear to be in our catalogs, which is a bit strange given it's ~12.5 magnitude.  KIC is not a catalog we have.  I look on SIMBAD for other aliases it might have and don't find other catalogs we have:

    2MASS J19291594+4637198

    KIC 9832227

    1SWASP J192916.01+463719.9

No, SkySafari does not allow you to add stars or DSOs to the database.
