CEM60 & SkyFi III

Hi Folks, I just bought a new CEM60 and the SkyFi III USB WiFi adapter. The mount has the latest firmware and I updated the firmware on the SkyFi. I am able to control the mount using a standard serial/USB cable with Starry Night Pro. I am using Win10 pro. I reviewed this link, https://support.simulationcurriculum.com/hc/en-us/articles/231541167, and have the iOptron supplied RS232-RJ9 connector plugged into the bottom of the HC and the DB9 connector plugs into the bottom of the SkyFi unit. I can successfully connect to the default SkyFi network. Using this link, https://support.simulationcurriculum.com/hc/en-us/articles/231541687, I created a virtual serial port on comm 3. When I bring up Telescope Control in SN7 and click configure, the iOptron mount is selected. Clicking on Properties brings up a message from iOptron saying "All settings have been moved to the iOptron Remote Control Center", a small scope control program I can use successfully when connected via serial/USB. The only option is to close the window and then say Connect in the Telescope Control window. When I say Connect, it fails to find the mount and brings up a dialog box where I can select a comm port, the choices are Auto or 3. I choose 3 (or Auto) and it fails with "cannot find any iOptron supported mounts." Any idea what I am doing wrong? :-) Thanks, Steve

Seems to be a common problem with SN7 as I have the same issues.

Will connect fine on both my I pad and I phone with the apps, but not on my windows 7 !

Have tried every configuration on the controller menu but wont connect.

    Hi Steve,

You said you're able to control the mount using a standard serial/USB cable with Starry Night Pro.  If that is possible it means your wires are connected properly, and I don't see how using SkyFi can be a show stopper.

Please give me a couple of days to reproduce this.  I'm sure we can figure this out together.

I'll need the iOptron Remote Control Center, which I can probably find online.

Also please attach a screenshot of your Virtual Serial Port settings panel.

    Thanks for your patience.

Is it the iOptron ASCOM Remote Control Panel?  Please link me to the homepage for this software.

From Steve: Go to the ioptron site “service” there you will find the firmware / software ( CEM 60 )downloads

OK, I'm having the same  problems with both SkyFi III via wifi and direct connection with my serial rs232 USB connection to my Windows 10 laptop.

I have deleted and reinstalled the Commander and ASCOM Driver Installer (V5.7.4.1, Sept. 10, 2019) several times and I can't get SN7 Pro to connect via the iOptron Commander interface.

When using SkyFi 3 the commander does not see the SkyFi, the only option is using the iOptron StarFi or Other.  When you select other it wants all the technical data associated with the com port which at some point I'll get a screenshot.  When it's connected via  USB/rs232 cable it can't find the mount regardless if I select auto detect or pick the comport.  I'm using the latest HC 8408 on CEM25P mount with the latest firmware installed.

I will be updating my SN7 pro to SN8 Pro once I find the download letter.
