Skysafari 5 plus

I have skysafari 5 plus and celestron sky portal. sky safari plus keeps giving me a connection failure, yet sky portal connects and aligns every time. 

Also sky safari doesnt even give me a connect and align option. Only connect , but it doesnt connect. 

Any ideas on what to do ?

    Did you choose "Celestron Wi-Fi" as the scope type?  Sounds like you may not have.

    That worked, thanks.  But now I cant get wedge align. For my recollection you go to scope and select wedge align, but when I select scope nothing happens.
