Sorry, but this is unlikely to happen anytime soon.  I know people want to customize the chart display to their heart's content, but there are a zillion things you could potentially customize.  The UI would become incredibly cluttered (it is getting there now).

I think the only solution would  be to have an "Advanced" screen with all these nit-picky customizations relegated to there.  Maybe some day.

no lines would unclutter!  I agree. Especially when zoomed out.  I have to zoom in just to clean up the screen so I can see what I'm doing on iphone 7+.   I'd like less star names and text as I zoom out.   IF there are photos - there should be no lines.

So the Name Density settings don't help with this?  You can also turn off Show Objects in the Deep Sky Settings.  Objects with images are still shown.

I don't agree that if there is an image then outlines should not be show.  However, everyone has their own preferences.

well I have name density at 4% and when zoomed out - I can't see anything under the names.  they appear to be satellite names. I could turn them off... but then I won't see satellites. Does name density include satellites?

The line around the nebula is fine if no photo - really no need with photos because well - the line changes depending on exposure anyway. Visually we don't see out to the line. Short exposure we see to the line, long exposures I see far more than the line defines.  It's just prettier to use the program without the lines. But no worries, just figured I'd post a feature request that "I would perfer". Because yes - everyone has their own preferences and yet - We can't turn them off.

btw: not sure if you care, I'm new here and well you come off really irritated and harsh and defensive against most posts. (just a newbie insight).  This forum area is called  "feature requests". I imagine you're asking for feature requests without concern of whether you agree with them or not. Implement them or not, the area us to share users ideas for features  I suspect.  For what it's worth, the ideas are free.

Ron, there are two name density settings, one for Deep Sky and one for Solar System.  Adjusting the Deep Sky one should not affect your ability to see satellite names.

I apologize if I came across as annoyed or defensive.  We are in the final couple of weeks before the SkySafari 6 release and I'm a bit worn down.

We do like feature requests but sometimes you just have to say no, not at this time.  If enough people request something, it gets raised in the priority queue.  Also, as I recently responded in another post, we just can't make everything customizable without making the UI totally unusable.  It is a balancing act.
