I just purchased SkySafari 7 Pro for $32.09 ($29.99 + tax) however, when I am in the app it is asking me to purchase premium access for another $29.99? This doesnt seem right as I purchased the pro version. Can someone please help with this?

Matt Hjelle Official comment SkySafari Premium is a recent addition to the version 7 apps that is completely optional and comes with a free trial. None of the app's original functionality is limited in any way by its availability. Most if not all features available or planned for Premium have ongoing costs associated for content creation, data streaming, 3rd-party integration, storage etc. The key things to know are the below:
- Monthly content in the form of guides, articles, photos & prepared simulations from astro experts covering the best observing events. Think of it as an interactive magazine subscription that gives you insights on the writers observing journeys and provides event-specific knowledge / app tips & tricks that help readers elevate their observing game.
- LiveSky.com Premium access which provides full browser-based astro data editing features, SkySafari Web, The Sky Tonight Calendar with prepared views/simulations in SkySafari Web and more outlined here: https://skysafariastronomy.com/livesky-data-management-and-cloud-sync-service.html
- SkyCast to multiple other users of SkySafari to provide a guided observing tour from your app. Share your link to provide users access.
- Interactive Light Pollution Maps allow you to learn your local levels and find the darkest sky locations near you.
- Enhanced OneSky data streaming that shows you what other users are focused on in the sky in realtime.
- More to come per user requests for additional content, tools & features that exceed but may enhance the app's core functionalities.
You'll also notice that within the Settings of V7 Pro, listed 2nd is "On-Demand Data" that is offered completely free of charge whereas in the past the addition of large databases providing an additional 90 million stars, 3 million galaxies and special features like the Apollo Missions module were paid in-app purchases.

However, SS7 does not require the subscription.

LiveSky Premium is not required in anyway to enjoy all the features and databases that are included with SS7 Pro.
