I'm trying to use Sky Safari 7 Pro running on an Android Tablet connecting to an Argo Navis emulating a Meade LX200 Classic telescope.
Irrespective of the status of the check box 'Set Time and Location' in the telescope set up the software always sets the time and location
when connecting. This is a problem since changing the time or location resets my two star alignment which has to be done over again
every time the software connects to my system. I've written a python program to sniff the communications and verified that Sky Safari is
sending the time and location set commands when the check box is unchecked and also when it is checked. This problem is not happening with Sky Safari 7 Pro on my android phone or with Sky Safari Pro 6 on the same Android tablet, so I do have a couple of work-arounds. It also happens with all the other meade telescope types that I could get to connect. It would be nice to get this fixed. I don't think it is working as intended.
Another problem is the longitude sign convention seems backwards from Meade's documented unusual positive west longitude convention, however I would be happy just not having Sky Safari set the location at all due to the star alignment reset issue I have.
Overall it's a great product and one of my all time favorite apps.
