It was a pleasure to visit you guys at NEAF! I spoke with David (I think) at length over these two issues, and I hope you remember our discussion.
I am a double star observer, and control my telescope only by JNOW RA and DEC coördinate input. I search Sky Safari via the WDS number. For the JNOW epoch coördinates, I set 'Precession' to JNOW and select all appropriate switches for the most accurate telescope goto and control the telescope via the hand controller. I would like to use Sky Safari from my iPhone for precise telescope control. So:
1: This only works well if the WDS information in Sky Safari is current, that is, the most accurate position information in the most updated catalog, and
2: If I input RA and DEC information via the coördinate input function, does Sky Safari assume I am using J2000 coördinates and change the coördinate epoch to JNOW before it sends the goto command?
