After purchase, download and install thru'google play, when I open the program it tells me that Sky Safari Pro needs to download additional 1807 MB data. However automatic download fails every time on WiFi (not G4) Found links for data files for Sky Safari Android version 4 and 5. But boith links produce error messages. This is all very disappointing, I absolutely had no such problems with Starry night 7 and eight, which I also have a license. I had hoped to provide myself with "light version" which would allow operating scope without compu. But Sky safari pro is limited to naked eye objects. Very disappointing and a waste of mnoney so far. Is there no fix for this?

Chris You might try one of the comments from this thread:

Ic434 Yeah, that did eventually result in success. Thanx Chris! I unistalled-re-installed half a dozen times to no avail then I brought my tablet back to factory defaults and started afresh. This time SS 6- pro downloaded incl. data file without a catch.
I would urge Sim Curr developers to have a critical look at this flaw, it cost me a whole day and others had similar problems. Sim Curr is otherwise a great company I use Starry nights since 1998 an Sky Safary since 2012; I was always very satisfied with the excellent quality of their products incl. ease of installation. But maybe the fault lies with Google-Play, anyways it would be good if these difficulties could be better highlighted in the FAQs and support section and the info on the App in Google Play shop

Keiron Smith We are going to rework the installer, though the changes may only come in SS7.
To be clear: the download for SSPro is about 1.9 GB.
There is a discrepancy between this actual download file size and what the user sees on the play store that creates an issue. -
Keiron Smith Update: Fix will be in SS6 as well.
