Why Does The Celestron Focus Motor Get Stuck At 33%? (Answer: Near Perfect Assembly Required - Read On!)

Good night from Spain!

I’m having some issue with my Celestron Astro-Fi 6 SCT, with its original mount (an alt-az wifi) and a recently installed celestron motor focuser. When SkySafari 6 on iPad starts calibrating the focuser, it get stuck at 33%, at absolute position 30,000. I tried to wait five more minutes but it keeps at 33%. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help!

The Celestron Motor Focuser must be near perfectly assembled and connected to your mount.  Failure to get the assembly correct will result in the endless spin you are experiencing.  Search YouTube for "How To" videos.  The issue will be discussed by YouTubers as well.  And, re-read the Celestron instructions.

    Thanks!

    Hi Keiron!

Thanks for your answer! It was one of the screws which wasn’t properly tightened and prevented the motor rotation. Once tightened worked perfectly! Had the occasion to test it over M44 using SkySafari and got pretty decent captures!

Congrats for such a great app and more greets from Spain!!
