My Observing List Changes The Order When Synced With Another Device.

I export my observing lists from AstroPlanner as CSV files and then use a script to create a list in SkySafari format based on the CSV.  I import the new list to my phone and it imports it in the correct order (unless it has an object in the list that it doesn't recognize, in which case it screws the order of the other objects up.)  However, on my tablet the list syncs and appears but with the objects in a totally different order.  The objects do show up in the correct order in LiveSky as well as my phone.  Why doesn't my tablet pickup the correct order of the objects?

    1. SkySafari 6 Pro on both devices.  Both have version 6.8.6.16

    2. My phone is Android version 9 with patch level Dec 1, 2020.  My tablet is Andriod 7.0 with patch level Aug 1, 2019.

    3.  My Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955U).  My Tablet is a Samsung GalaxyTab S2 (SM-T813)

    4.  The list is at this link.  LiveSky (https://livesky.com/#/observing-list/7AmFl7jm69)

It's interesting the order of things.  I first emailed it to the tablet and it was in the correct order.  Then I checked my phone and LiveSky and it was all in the right order on LiveSky but the wrong order on my phone.  Curiously it has 2 instances of the list in LiveSky and they are both in the right order and they both use the same link.  Once I opened the list on my phone, then within a few minutes the order of the list was messed up on my tablet as well but both the tablet and the phone show a different, incorrect order for the list.  Both lists in LiveSky are still in the correct order.

Kyle Hendicks is our LiveSky developer, we will ask him to have a look at this.

    Thanks, Bryan!

    Ok.  Thanks.

I noticed that the order of the list still changes, even if I don't start SkySafari on my phone.  However, it's also true that once I re-arrange the list manually on the tablet then it stays how I arranged it.  If I start it on my phone, after re-arranging it on my tablet, then the list is out of order on my phone but stays correct on my tablet.

It is still frustrating, though, because I can have some rather long observing lists and I don't usually have time to re-arrange it before it's time to star gaze.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

In 2024 and SkySafari 7 this is still a problem. Imported lists maintain the starting order for a few minutes, then they back up to cloud, get scrambled and there's no way to restore the original order. This is a show stopper for visual observation with dobsonian, where careful planning of slew movements is fundamental.
