Keiron Smith Don,
Please Upvote and show your support for this feature request here:
Thanks!

Don DeNatale Thanks, Kieron! I hope this goes somewhere. Seems like a pretty simple fix. Especially considering the Help screen says this under Selection Help > Object Info Help: “Distance - the distance to the object, if it is known. For solar system objects, the distance is displayed in miles, kilometers, or Astronomical Units”

Don DeNatale Hey Kieron, the link you gave above sends me to my request over two years ago. Please let me know what I need to do to get this request moving along. Like I quoted, the Help section says solar system distances are available in miles, but apparently they are not. This contradiction has to be a source of frustration for people like me who run local star parties. Thanks again for anything you can do to help.

Dean Keiron, I think that you need to make voting more intuitive. It's clear that almost no one uses this feature.
In the "SkySafari | Feature Requests" category there's a maximum of 4 votes on only two posts, and a maximum of 8 votes on any posts for the entire "Simulation Curriculum | Community" (including Starry Night and SkySafari).
The mechanism for up-voting a post is obscure. Along with being almost invisible, the small up and down symbols next to the poster's avatar/icon aren't labeled, nor is the numerical counter, and it's unclear if they are for up-voting the post or for rating the poster (as is sometimes done).
It's also easy to forget that you may have already up-voted something, and click to up-vote again not realizing that you actually just canceled your previous up-vote. Some kind of indicator showing the user's vote status would be good. As it is you need to toggle the arrows and watch what the vote count indicator does. -
Keiron Smith Developers review the Feature Requests forum, reading through all posts, calculating interest based on number of posts, number of comments, number of Upvotes, etc.
KM is the official metric for professional astronomy, which is why the app defaults to that metric.
I will ask developers to review this request again, but make no promises.
Thanks!

Don DeNatale In addition to serving the professional community, Sky Safari serves the amateur community. To better facilitate communication with a non-metric public like we have in the United States, miles would be really handy. The developers should either give us that option or remove this from Object Info Help: “For solar system objects, the distance is displayed in miles, kilometers, or Astronomical Units.” Please give the developers this response. Thanks.

Chris Agree miles makes more sense for this app. Also should be a very easy feature to implement.
