I cannot connect SkySafari 7 Pro to a new SkyFi 3

Hello everyone,

Now that Keiron Smith has corrected me in that I Do have the latest firmware 1.3.4, I nevertheless have a connection problem.

"SkySafari Pro can make a wireless connection to the scope, but the scope is not responding. Make sure the scope is powered on and connected correctly. Also make sure you selected the correct scope type."

My equipment:

New SkyFi 3 with firmware 1.3.4

SkySafari Pro 7.1.8.0 running on a Pixel 6

Celestron Evolution with Starsense firmware firmware ver 01.21.2133 the latest.

Using connection preset for Celestron NexStar GPS/SLT/SE, Access Point (Network access didn't work either)

The unavoidable, cannot turn off, Celestron Wifi radio is on channel 6.

The SkyFi 3 radio is on channel 10.  Both are 20 dB or so above neighborhood signals. I'm testing at the scope.

I performed a Solar System align on the Sun, inside the house.

The mount was aligned and tracking because a GOTO using the controller to Mercury moved the scope the likely amount.

Oh, the USBA to Mini-USB cable has been successfully used to perform Celestron firmware updates. Don't know where it came from.

The Preset setup test connects to SkyFi successfully.

Today I even connected the scope to Stellarium running on a Linux desktop. The software showed the Evolution on the Sun. I could Goto Mercury, Denebola.

Some screen shots are at the following Google Drive folder - safe.

Thanks for any help.  I have another cable arriving tomorrow.

Tonight, I performed a Starsense alignment to test under the stars instead of the solar system align on the sun (inside house).

After alignment I tested and Altair was dead center.

With the Starsense at Starsense Ready, I connected the SkyFi 3 and turned it on. I'm using Access Point Mode and Channel 10. The Evolution mount wifi is on channel 6 (Why does the SkyFi 3 not allow channel 11?) so there was no conflict. Network Neighborhood looked good.

Connected the Pixel phone to SkyFi. Loaded SkySafari 7 Pro.

Edited preset Celestron NexStar GPS/SLT/SE and Auto-Detect found SkyFi, "Successfully Connected".  Saved the preset.

Returned to the main screen, selecting Scope/Connect, and....

    Connection Failure

SkySafari Pro can make a wireless connection to the scope, but the scope is not responding. Make sure the scope is powered on and connected correctly. Also make sure you selected the correct scope type.

    I tried 3 different cables.

I tried two other Celestron connection types, scope types.

I increased the TimeOut to 10 secs.

    I can't imagine what I'm doing incorrectly.

Should Starsense controller be set to something else beside Starsense Ready? I didn't think to try that.

I'm going to try SkySafari with connection type ASCOM Alpaca next  and ASCOM Remote.

I tried the INDI Connection a year or so ago (before SkySafari was totally debugged on INDI) and Did get tracking with Starsense set to Solar System align (sun inside house - ha).  I got frustrated trying to get INDI control of my Celestron motor focus.  Too sophisticated for me - Ekos.

If I can GOTO using ASCOM I won't need SkyFi although it's a shame because sometimes I won't want to bring out the mini computer. Yes, even 20 feet from scope storage - stairs.

I'll always use SkySafari for planning. Great product!
