Can I Use SkySafari 7 Pro To Explore Every Exoplanet Discovered So Far? (Answer: No, Read On!)

Hi, I have recently purchased SkySafari 7 Pro and also installed PGC Galaxy database and the GAIA Star database. Today I wanted to search up and read about the Kepler-385 system, however the search comes up empty- no object found. When searching for just Kepler I get just 12 matches, and none of them what I am looking for. In the SkySafari 7 Pro description on the AppStore it says that the database includes every solar system and object ever discovered- so how can it be that I am not able to find Kepler-385? As I am new to the app I guess I am doing something wrong, however it should be a simple and straightforward thing to do search, so not sure what I can do differently…

    Are you looking for Kepler-385 b the exoplanet?

    I see that SS 7 pro has every asteroid and comet discovered but not every solor system and planet discovered. Where did you read that?

    It says in the description of SS7 Pro (iOS AppStore) that it includes “every solar system object ever discovered”.

    I read “every solar system object ever discovered”. Not every solar system. The solar system objects they refer to are in our solar system.

    Thanks Bruce - I also ended up concluding that this might be the case.
    When that is said, the app developers might want to look into the description of the app, as it isn’t clear that this limitation is there, I mean it isn’t stated that it is every object in OUR solar system. Given that I and others purchase the app based on the app description, I think this would make sense ;-)

    You will not find a better app than SS7 pro despite that it doesn’t explore exoplanets. You made a good choice. Have fun exploring with it.
