Using Celestron's SkyPortal Wi-Fi module, I can easily use the SkyPortal app to do a star sense auto align using the Star Sense Auto Guider on my CPC 1100. I cannot switch to Sky Safari 7 Pro and maintain that alignment. Obviously Sky Portal has a much more limited database so I would *greatly* prefer being able to do a similar alignment directly with SkySafari and the Celestron dongle. Is there a way to do that?

Unfortunately following most of those steps leave me where I had been. SS does not seem to recognize the Star Sense Auto Guider as a Star Sense device and so in the detailed page of the scope set up (pulled up after taping the Celestron Gear icon) the alignment options are only those for a standard hand control, such as "Align Using Sky Align," "Align using manual align" etc. and not the Star Sense related buttons the user guide shows of "Align Using Star Sense Auto"...etc. I have not attached the hand control. Attached are the screen shots of how I got here. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I understand now, and can say StarSense Autoguider is not presently supported. This is something Celestron has to do with regards to the apps, at they write and maintain the Celestron code base for Celestron WiFi connections.

If you connect the Celestron StarSense hand controller you will also see the StarSense AutoAlign options.

Yes. The SkyPortal app definitely will work but unfortunately you are then stuck with its more limited set of catalogues etc.--a long way from full SkySafari unfortunately.
