Why Is The Ecliptic Line Missing From SkySafari 6 And 7? (Answer: Upgrade To The Plus Or Pro Versions For Advanced Features - Read On!)

I have SkySafari 6 in the U.S. and I do not have the option to add an ecliptic line onto my sky. A friend of mine (that lives in South America) has the same version of SkySafari and HAS the option to turn the ecliptic on/off and showed me in the settings where it is. But on mine, that setting is missing. Please help! 🥺

Hey there! A few questions. What device are you using, what Android version do you have, and what's the exact version of SS6 that you have? In SS you can go to Help and the version is near the bottom.

Can you also go to settings > Grid and Reference and take a screen shot?

Lastly, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

    Hi there!

Thank you so much for your help Chris!

    I have 2 devices: iPhone 13 & MacBook Air.

On my phone it looks like it updated to SkySafari 7.3.2 - I don’t have the “Grid and Reference” option.

On my laptop I have SkySafri 6.8.2 - this also does not have a “grid and reference” option.

Do you have an email I can send the screenshots to? I don’t see a place to add pics here.

I did uninstall and reinstall the app on my laptop but I still don’t see the ecliptic option.

    Sachi,

The ecliptic and other advanced features are only available in the Plus and Pro versions of SkySafari.
