Trying to connect LX200 to Mac

-I have a Meade LX200 8" SMT GPS

-I have a MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion 10.8.3

-I have the cable attached to my USB port on the MAC and to the RS232 jack on the Meade

-The Mac recognizes the USB is plugged in and recognizes when it is unplugged

-The cable setup works when I use it on a PC with other software

-I have Starry Night Pro 6.4.3

-When I open the Telescope Configuration I select "Meade LX200 GPS" and Comm port there is only one option "Bluetooth-PDA-Sync

-When I attempt to connect I get in the connection status: "Communication Error" and in the connection info a statement that says "an error has occured while trying to communicate with the scope.........."

-Any ideas what I should do?  Thanks David

What USB to serial cable are you using?

Have you installed a driver for this cable on the Mac?

Not all USB to serial cables come with Mac drivers.
