SNPP7 to Meade Autostar on LX-80 mount

Testing using:

SNPP7 7.0.0.92 for OS X.

OSX v10.9.2

Communication to mount via Bluetooth (built in bluetooth on Mac communicating to Roving Networks RN-270M on the scope side)

Mount is a Meade LX-80 using Meade Audiostar controller.

Testing with the Meade Audiostar on an LX-80 mount I found several issues.

Upon connecting to the scope (which worked), I noticed that

1)  The scope does connect... although the RA/Dec and Alt/Az values in the status section all read "N/A".

I select M45 and told SNPP7 to send the scope to that object... this worked.  Although...

2)  I attempted to test the "nudge" features in manual control and found that even setting a generous nudge amount (I set it to 10º knowing that if I set it to a small value in arc-minutes, etc. that I might not notice the movement).  The manual control nudges would not work regardless of what I did.

3)  I manually entered an RA/Dec position into SNPP7 to center the screen.  In my case I picked M31 (but entered it via the "View" -> "Center on..." menu to simulate what happens when we identify a new object which is not in a known catalog (e.g. a nova discovery, etc.)  On screen (not ordering the scope to move yet), SNPP7 centered the object.  BUT... when I told the scope to slew to screen center... nothing.

4)  I then noticed that I couldn't send the scope to anything at all even though I could see the lights on my serial port indicating activity.

I disconnected and reconnected SNPP to the telescope.  I picked an object and told it to center... which worked again.  I re-tested the nudges... nothing.  I also re-tested the "center scope on screen center" and also got no response.

    Hi Tim,

It's two years since this report, and currently working with you regards the latest 7.5.5 Mac telescope plugin.  Your commitment to the improvement of Starry Night 7 is second to none.  Thank you so much for all your contributions.
