It has always worked before. I have been away from the scope and program for several years, and just came back. All settings are correct. The program says that I can connect. Yet when I press the connect button the error message is that ASCOM cannot detect connection to a port. My hardware is in good working order.

First, click here to update your version of Starry Night.
Second, please confirm that you have followed the telescope trouble shooting guide very carefully, downloading Ascom 6 and the latest Ascom driver for your mount/telescope.
Third, please confirm you have visited your mount manufacturer's website and make sure you have the lastest firmware in the mount's hand paddle.
Fourth, please confirm you have connected the scope as follows:
1) Power on the telescope (and align it if you're outside at night).
2) Plug it into the computer.
3) Start Starry Night.
4) Open the Telescope tab and click Configure to choose your telescope.
5) Click the Connect button.Please try to provide this specific information:
1. Telescope mount
2. Telescope
3. Operating system
4. Ascom version
5. Any error messages *** this is very important *** But, most importantly, we need to know what the exact error message is. Can you reproduce the error and copy the error message for us?
