OSX - bluetooth connection is my only choice - problems communicating with Celestron Nexstar 5

I have Starry Night Pro 6.4.3 running on my MAC OSX 10.8.4 and I am using a USB to serial converter. I cannot get the software to talk to the scope - on the pull down tab to configure the scope, a USB 0r serial connection is never offered - only a bluetooth connection is my only choice!  How can I connect viaUSB/Serial?

    What USB to Serial converter do you have?

    If only a bluetooth connection is shown as an available connection then probably the USB to Serial OSX driver is not installed properly, or not compatible with your version of OSX, and needs to be re-installed or updated.  Once installed properly your USB connection will be available.
