CGEM 8" - RA tracking

I have a CGEM 8" Celestron. I have noticed that after a certain level of movement in the RA, it stops responding to the hand control. I checked the battery pack powering the,mount/ hand control and it is supplying 12V.

What might be causing it to stop the RA movement after certain level of movement? Are the worm gears too tightly meshed?

I am going to call Celestron since it is still under warranty but wanted to get an idea if somebody has seen this issue.

  Probably, your best bet is to contact Celestron directly.
