I would like a way to view guides and grids through the Sun, the planets, and other objects

Starry Night 7.0.5

OS X 10.9.3

MacBook Pro 15-inch, Mid 2010, 2.4 GHz i5 processor

The following is not a bug, but a request:

For demonstration purposes and other projects, I would like to be able to see guides and grids through the Sun, the planets, and other objects.

For example, on June 21 the Summer Solstice occurs. But when, exactly does this moment happen locally? I can do the following helpful things:

  • turn on the Summer/Winter Solstice (in the Ecliptic Guides)
  • turn on the Grid (in the Celestial Guides)
  • turn off the horizon so I can watch the Sun at any point above or below the horizon

But even then I can only approximate the Sun's position relative to the point in the sky at which it crosses the Summer Solstice point. So I am looking for a way to turn the Sun semi-transparent or else see just a circular outline of the Sun perhaps with a dot in the center so I can tell EXACTLY when the Sun has reached that point of the Summer Solstice.

Perhaps I am missing some obvious option or setting. If not, could such an option be implemented so I could easily follow other such similar events when I need to locate and track objects across a specific point in the sky?

Thank you!
