Pro Plus image distortion

Originally from ticket #4837.

Hi! I noticed that for some reason when I try to zoom in on galaxies and nebulas that instead of giving me a richer picture like in the older versions of the software, I lose the picture and just see bright dots! I try to zoom in further and can never get close enough to see a detailed picture! thanks

The All Sky CCD is a high resolution image (like a photograph). You can zoom quite a bit, and the resolution always look sharp. But, at a certain point the resolution will just start to break down (at about 1 degree All Sky  image begins to degrade)

The AllSky can be turned off. Look in Options (left row of tab) ---> Stars ---> AllSky <--- uncheck it. You will see the digital rendering of the night sky, and there will be no resolution issue at any zoom level.
