My news update stopped as of March 10, 2012. I waited awhile to see if it would be fixed, no luck. I downloaded the latest Starry Night widget for my mac with OS X 10.5.8, no luck again.

Thanks for pointing it out. We'll take a look and get back to you. Starry Night Online has recently been switched to a new server (you may have noticed higher quality images coming through) but some things, like the ticker, are still a work in progress. I'll let you know as soon as the issue has been fixed.

Daniel W. Holzemer Same thing has happened to me. Put the Starry Night Widget on my dashboard..... and it won't "update"??? It was "searching" for 20 minutes and I finally closed the board.

Starry Night dashboard widget is functioning normally as far as I can tell. Click on the widget and press Command-Shift-R. This will force the widget the reload. Are you perhaps referring to a website? The latest version of Starry Night widget is available here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/information/starrynightwidget.html
