I want to be able to create a new star (specify co-ordinates, magnitude, name) and have it behave exactly like a real star. Is this possible in any version of Starry Night? Could I make a database containing these "fake" stars and turn off the databases of all the "real" stars?
I want to create standard stars which I can use to demonstrate theories about how naked eye observations of heliacal rises throughout the year were made in ancient civilisations. I am trying to choose a planetarium package to use in class which has this feature.
