My 'new' Starry night enthusiast 5 will not install in Win7

I just purchased thru Amazon a copy of SNEnthusiast 5 via Amazon.  It did not install properly; it SAID it was installed, but had not requested disk two, and would not function.  I understand from Amazon product reviews that there was a 'manufacturing issue'  with one batch (probably why I got it at such a discount).

 

Is there a way to get replacement disks?  I understand this isn't the current supported version, but my budget's kinda tight.....Below is my receipt.

  I have deleted the receipt.  This is a public forum.  

   

  About your purchase I'm sure we can get the program to work.  I think the problem is simple enough.  What operating system are you using?

  Hi John,

  I did not receive a ticket regarding this install query.

   

  Here is a fix for Windows 7:

   

  First, Install the latest version of Java from http://www.java.com .

  Second, install using compatibility mode. With the disc in the drive, click Start -> Computer. Double-click on your optical (DVD/CD) drive to view its contents. (Ignore or cancel the program if it starts to install.) Right-click on the Setup or Install icon and choose "Troubleshoot Compatibility." Follow the instructions on screen. If you are asked for a compatibility mode, choose "Windows XP."

   

  Here is a fix for Vista:

  First, visit http://www.java.com and follow the instructions to download and install Java.

  Second, put the disc in the drive, and if it starts trying to install, cancel it.

  Click on Start -> Computer and double-click on the CD/DVD drive to view the contents. There should be an icon called Setup or Install; right-click on that and choose Properties.

  The Properties window should have tabs like file folder labels across the top. Click the one that says Compatibility.

  In the Compatibility window, you'll see a checkbox that says "Run in compatibility mode for..." and then a menu. Check the box, and then click the menu and choose Windows XP SP2. Also check the box that says "Run as administrator".

  Click Apply and OK to close this window, and then double-click the Install or Setup icon in the Starry Night disc. This should let it install properly. Let me know if you get stuck.
