V7 centering phenomenon

When I click on "Center" for any object, the screen goes into this weird wandering mode and eventually centers at the desired location. Is this by design? If so, how do I turn this "feature off".

  Hi Grant, 

  Would you mind to submit a ticket, and add a screen recording using the plugin built into the ticket system  No download is required.  Its all web-based.

  if I see exactly what you see that will help us understand whether its a bug or meant to be.

  For immediate centering hit the space bar after you clicked "Center". I think that solves your Problem.
