Unable To Change FOV In AR Mode

Hello,

when I'm in AR mode, I'm unable to change FOV / zoom level. When I click top pannel and click different FOV buttons, e.g. 20 degrees, 5 degrees...UI blinks promptly, button becomes greyed out, but nothing happens. I'm always stuck with default FOV on my phone - 38.8 degrees in portrait and 74.6 degrees in landscape. I'm on iPhone 11 Pro Max and iOS 17.4.1.

In compass mode, setting FOV works fine. But when I get to AR mode and back to compass, FOV is reset back to phone's default (e.g. 38.8) even in compass view.

App Version, SKYSAFASRI 7 PRO 7.3.5 (1110)

Thank you

    Lukas,

What is the importance of this functionality to your workflow?

    Thanks for your report.

    Hi Keiron,

since I'm using Skysafari iOS on my iPhone mounted to my telescope for approximate sky navigation and since there is currently no option to offset compass in Compass view (this works in AR view only), I would consider this as a key functionality to my workflow. Default AR FOV level is zoomed out a lot, which makes the navigation difficult.

I would say that either implementing FOV change in AR view or possibility to offset compass in Compass view (as FOV change works with no issues there) would be really satisfactory for my workflow.

    Thanks a lot.

    Here is the video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HDIg43uuLgmb8hrPJMH2UwUlHeCw0l6O/view?usp=sharing

I'm clicking different FOV buttons in the top panel but nothing happens, FOV remains 38.8

Can you share a photo of your phone and mount to scope?

    Thanks!

Sure. I'm using iPhone 11 Pro Max mounted on top of my scope. The photo is here: https://imgur.com/a/9i8WLpv

As mentioned previously, AR view provides a feature to offset compass, so it works fine for approximate sky navigation, but unfortunately, FOV buttons seem not to work at all (even when they are present in UI) and view is so zoomed out that it makes it complicated to navigate through large number of objects on the screen.

On the other hand, FOV buttons in compass view work as expected, but there is no ability to offset the compass in Compass view, so precision is completely off.

If both features (FOV setting and compass offset) were present in either AR view or in Compass view, that would completely resolve the issue for me.I still belieleve that FOV buttons in AR view not doing anything is a bug, since they are present in UI for AR view. They just don't work when pressed.

    Thanks a lot!
