I have had this problem - sticking slew buttons - for nearly 1 year.
It started after updates 7.1.9 and 7.2.0 were sent.
Perhaps this will get you closer to the issue.

Developers are reviewing this issue for the next app update.Celestron SkyPortal app does not have the same issue AFAIK.
