Hi, I would like a user defined "max slew rate" in the settings, as my Skywatcher-Orion mount shrieks while on 9 during a goto. Yes, I know that means it will take longer for my scope to wheel around the sky, but I'd rather that than having to apologize for waking up nearby campers in the dead of night.

There is 4 slew rate options to choose from connected to a scope.
1 / 2 / 3 / 4
These slew rates are aligned with those that are built into the scope's mount.
We do not set the slew rate via the app, only set the slew rate that is permitted via the mount.

Thanks for the fast reply Keiron. The 1/2/3/4 are lovely for me moving the scope - for a goto I don't have a choice. I'm thinking since the app can tell the mount to move at say "3" when I push the buttons, that when I ask the app to "goto", it could also tell the mount to "goto at rate 3". As always, I appreciate the level of support you and the company provide to elevate our observing experience.
I do not understand the issue as you are describing it.
The slew speed of number 3 should determine all GoTo and control button movement.
Perhaps you can make a screen recording or video that demonstrates your issue better, if something is wrong.

Hopefully you can see/hear this video I took last night. You will see the app is on slew rate 1. I touch the arrows and it moves nicely as expected, so quietly, you can't hear the motors. But when I select Altair and tap "goto", the mount launches at max slew rate with all the noise. I'd like the mount to goto the selection at rate 3 (for example).

If you do not use SS7. If instead you use the mount's hand controller, and set the HC to slew rate 1, does the mount slew to a GoTo object at rate 1, or does it slew at the same rate seen in this video?

I'm back (was in US canyon country for the last two weeks - Bryce is jaw-dropping!), apologies for the time gap.
Here is a short 1 min video showing the Synscan hand controller set and moving at rate 6 (you can't hear it, but can see the setting circles move), then when I GoTo Albireo, it jumps to rate 9.

Such feature would be nice.
During alignment proces, the app automatically select rate 4 for the crude part, and 1 for fine tune. Even if you chose a different rate, it switches to 4 when you click goto and use that.
In some cases 4 is too high, SLT mounts report inaccurate MC_GET_POS values at high rates.
It can also be a problem on mounts with poor supply/source.
Not a fault of the app, but it could help making alignment better in many circumstances.

I just noticed the feature was present in skysafari 6, but the advanced section where it was present is missing in SS7.
