SkySafari 7 froze up since 7.4.1.7 update.

Several things:

Thing 1:

I started SkySafari (V7.4.1.7 on Android V14)  a few days ago. It was acting all flaky (too much to document). Now when I open it, it just shows a black sky with the usual info and icons on the periphery. Everything seems to work ok except all it shows is blak where the sky should be.

While troubleshooting, I noticed this version was pushed out AFTER I last opened SkySafari. So yeah, wuz up with all this? And I hope you don't suggest I uninstall 6 & 7, and reinstall only 7 as 6 is pretty darned reliable.

 

Thing 2:

I submitted a request but now the link says the page doesn't exist. Here's the excerpt from the email response:

Thing 3:

As mentioned, I do have 6 installed but I left it as a backup and have had to rely on it several times after V7 stopped working - an update always seemed to fix 7 before I felt the need to report the issue. I mention this because navigating the new (to me) SimCurr website for help is, painful at best (as exemplified by the reaction to the report from a few days ago). I was hopeful your new AI help feature (SkySafariGPT) might be refreshing. Not so. Here's the response I got from it (which is a lot like the results searching the forums - to many unrelated results except for all the telescope control bug reports for the various 7.4.1.7 versions):

1097 results for "skysafari shows blank screen since update to 7.4.1.7"

So, nearly an hour crafting this report, 15 minutes giving up on the web resources, and another hour or so trying to fix V7 following the last update, I'm really frustrated. I rather suspect this request might run into the "Ooops, page not found" result as well.
