Where Are The Satellites? (Answer: We Will Get It Fixed ASAP - Read On!)

I'm running Starry Night Pro Plus 8 on a Mac.

I normally can see satellites using the software. However, they have now all vanished.

I've updated the Satellites.txt file in the Sky Data folder. I've tried searching for them, but nothing is there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Until the issue is resolved the previous data file has been restored.

Thanks for the updates.. I've tried my software and downloaded some new data files.

However, I still see no satellites and cannot search for any.

    Please advise..

I've tried adding a satellite using the 2 line orbital elements and this seems to work...

Also, looking at the Satellites.txt file, there doesn't seem to be many entries in the list.

I used to track many Starlink satellites and there are none in this file.

Just tested it and they are back!... However, the list of satellites seems to have dropped...for example, no Starlinks at all..

I assume I can just manually add them to the Satellites.txt file ?

Hello, am also wondering the same thing. Noticed the Satellites.txt file had shrunk quite a bit and also missing the Starlink ones. Was this intentional?

    Mluck94,

    This issue was resolved.

Developers have said there are too Starlink satellites to include in the data download.

But, you can add them yourself manually - please see the Help > User Guide.

    Thanks!
