How do I track C/2025 N1 (ATLAS)

C/2025 N1 (ATLAS) is not yet in the database.  Will there be an update added so we can track it.

I have been updating the orbit data every day in anticipation of doing a simulation of 3I/ATLAS. Just today, I noticed that C/2025 *N2* is in the database, but C/2025 N1 is still not present. The elements are available. Is there a way to manually enter its orbital elements? Thanks.

In Starry Night 8 Pro locate the Sun and bring up its context menu. You should see a New Comet... entry. This brings up a from to add the objects orbital elements. There is also an entry New Asteroid... if you want to add an asteroid that is not found in Starry Night.

If you select other planets and minor bodies then you will find entries to Add Satellite.. (Earth only) or moons Add Moon Orbiting XXXX...  Where XXXX is the name of the object.

    Have fun.

Oops, I thought I was in a SkySafari forum. Will try it there.

    Hello,

How will we know when 3I/Atlas is in the Starry Night Pro Database?

    Thank You.

Unfortunately, the highly eccentric orbit of 3I/ATLAS is beyond the simulation capabilities of Starry Night.

If you want to track 3I/ATLAS please use SkySafari 7 Plus or Pro.
