Bill Tschumy Do you actually have some field of view indicators defined? Can you attach an image showing the Scope Display screen?
-
Ajtv Bill,
I do have them defined. I am using Sky Safari 6 across across 3 devices (not at the same time). The iPhone 6+ works fine. The iPad Air 2, and iPad 3 both don’t display. All devices are as up to date as they can be barring the latest security patch.
Where can I upload the screen grabs ? -
Bill Tschumy When you are editing a response on the forums, there is a "picture" icon that lets you upload images.
If you are just responding via email, the system might detect an attachment and add it to the forums. I've actually never tried that.
-
Ajtv Bill, I don’t see this icon on IOS Safari. I will try responding to the email.
-
Ajtv The email is a no reply email

Ajtv
I transferred to my desk top, hope these help -
Ajtv I notice the magnification is 0. but these appear correctly on my iphone with proper magnification

Bill Tschumy Notice that all your indicators say the FOV is "infinity". That in itself is our bug. Click on one to see how it is set up. There must be something that is not defined in either the SKY-90 scope or in the eyepieces. Did these FOV indicators get imported from SS5 or did you define them yourself within SS6? Was the scope chosen from our pre-defined scopes of did you make a custom one?
-
Ajtv Bill,
The equpment list is mixture of imported from SS5 which were custom and some taken from the preset SS6 database. All these fov are from the preset.SS6
they are now switcing between displaing prperly and giving errors.
i can not get the preset Canon 5D III to work at all.
-
Bill Tschumy So let's get specific. The SKY-90 telescope. Was that imported from SS5 or didi you choose it from our list of pre-defined scopes. If you go to your Equipment and tap on the SKY-90, what is the focal length and aperture?
Later: I just noticed that one of the predefined scopes in my equipment said the FL and aperture was both 0. Then I came back later and it was correct. Let me investigate this. Something is not working correctly with the predefined equipment.
-
Bill Tschumy We still haven't definitely identified the problem, but I think a work around is to go into the predefined equipment for each category of equipment you have and just display the pre-defined equipment. When you tap Back, you equipment should be corrected.
I think this is only a problem with your pre-defined equipment and this should be a one time fix.
-
Ajtv The equipment list was a mix of imported from SS5 and your SS6 predefined. These were all predifined. Intersingly when I deleted one and re installed it the rest came back. However I can not get the Canon 5DIII to work. It

Bill Tschumy Did you try what I suggested? Tap on the "Add Camera" button to display the pre-defined cameras and then go back. I think that will fix it.
If it is not fixed, exactly what is the problem? Are all the fields 0?
-
Ajtv Bill, I will send you some screen grabs when I get to work, can’t upload from my iPhone. I did try but it’s not stable. Despite removing and re adding the Canon 5DIII I can not get it to work. It list as “choose equipment “ in white and “detail” in blue on the five page
-
Ajtv That should say FOV not five
-
Bill Tschumy Did you choose both a camera and telescope? Generally it says "Choose Equipment" if either of those are not specified.
-
Ajtv Bill, you got me. Sorry about that, I should have caught it. Camera now good.
I am
Still loosing the items occasional but you seem to have found a work around. Thanks for your kind help. -
Bill Tschumy We think we have a handle on what is going on but I would think it wouldn't keep reoccurring. So are you saying that equipment that used to be correct in the past day now has all zeros for its values. If so that is a good hint for us.
-
Ajtv Yes. It has come back, but seems to occasionally revert to zero. But I am using it on two different iPads and an iPhone.
-
Bill Tschumy Ajtv,
Are you still having cases where the fields revert to 0?
