I’m able to connect to my new ioptron cem120ec mount via it’s built in wifi but not through Sky Safari. Any idea when this new mount will be supported in the equipment listings? Thanks for the help, Carl

Bill Tschumy iOptron has changed their command syntax yet again. We have the new specs and we don't think it will be too hard to implement. I suspect we will get to it in the next month or so.

Carl Wellman Thank you Bill, will I need to delete my 6 pro from my ipad and download it again to get the update for the CEM120EC? I wasn’t sure dow updates are handled through Sky Safari, thanks Bill.

Bill Tschumy No need to delete the app. It will just get updated when the new version is available.

Keiron Smith Hi Carl,
We have implemented support for the new iOptron CEM-120 mount, and for other iOptron mounts running firmware that speaks iOptron's new "version 3" protocol. These mounts have iOptron firmware versions after (greater than) 171001. At present, we believe that the CEM-60 is the only other iOptron mount with this "version 3" protocol available. But we understand that iOptron plans to roll out this firmware to other mount models in the future. Before we officially release support for this new iOptron firmware in SkySafari, we would like to offer a test version to our iOptron customers. At present we are only offering a test version for SkySafari 6 iOS users. If you have SkySafari 6, and iOS device, an iOptron mount, and would like to test this new feature, please respond with your preferred email address in this forum (if the email is different from the one used for logging into the support forum). We'll expect to release a TestFlight version with CEM-120 and "v3" iOptron protocol support on Monday, July 16th, 2018.Thanks! -

Mark Bailey So I’ve just installed my new CEM 120 mount. My iPad with Sky Safari 6 pro will not connect to mount WiFi. Can you help? The iPad does recognize the mount but Sky Safari will not make a connection.

Bill Tschumy SkySafari has added support for the new iOptron mounts like the CEM120. We had iOptron test our changes. We did not specifically test the Wi-Fi connection, in part because we don't have this mount. I was unable to find any instructions for the Wi-Fi on iOptron's site. My guess is you will need to change the IP address and port number from SkySafari's default. Did you?

Mark Bailey I’m a bit of a techno clutz. I would have no idea how to start.

Mark Bailey Perhaps you could spell out the steps required? Please?
-
Bill Tschumy Perhaps you should contact iOptron (or check you manual) to see what the IP address and port number are for their mount. After getting them you would enter them in the Settings > Scope Setup panel.

Carl Wellman here’s a good start to set things up, note the ip address and the port number. set those and the ioptron 120 mount and you’ll be in business
