I've been using SkySafari 5 Pro with my Celestron SkyQ WiFi adapter in direct connection without problems.
Now, after big headaches, I was able to connect the SkyQ module to my home WiFi and control the telescope in the backyard from my main computer wich is at home.
Now I'd like to control the telescope from SkySafari. I've selected Celestron WiFi as telescope in the app but can't connect and there's no option to set the right IP address.
What should I do?
I believe SkySafari is supposed to auto-detect the SkyQ Link module and use the correct IP address. You should ask Celestron Support about this. They are providing support for the Celestron Wi-Fi option in SkySafari.

Is it possible that the app doesn't autodetect the SkyQ module but try to connect to the default SkyQ IP address (1.2.3.4)?
In SkyQLink PC I've changed the IP manually and connected without problems. Would be nice to have a field to change the Telescope IP in "Celestron Wireless" as other mounts have.
I assume you went into the Scope Communication settings and changed it from "Use Direct Connect" to "Use Access Point"? You will also need to visit the Configure Access Point screen and set some things there.
Yes I've selected "Use Access Point".
"Configure Access Point" Is only accesible if you can connect to the telescope. It seems that "Configure Access Point" menu is for configuring the SkyQ WiFi module to connect to your access point but has no impact in the app connection settings.
Anyway I've configured it from the app an the only thing that happened is that the SkyQ module WiFi SSID changed to tho one introduced there.
To actually set up the adapter to connect to the access point I'd to use the SkyQLink PC program from Celestron.
You need to have the SkyQ Link in "access point" mode and connect to it to configure it. Then switch the SkyQ Link to "connect to network" mode and join the network.
This is the way it is supposed to work. If you are having issues, you'll need to talk to Celestron

I know positively that the SkyQ WiFi adapter is correctly configured. As I wrote, I'm able to connect to the scope from PC's using the SkyQLink PC program where you have the option to manually enter the IP and TCP Port.
Actually, I've configured port forwarding on my ADSL router to the SkyQ IP and TCP Port, introduced the public IP of my ADSL router on the SkyQLink PC program and been able to connect and control the telescope from my office through internet.
So, It's only in SkySafari (and SkyPortal), where you have no option to introduce the SkyQ IP, So you won't be able to connect.
I've seen that for example, selecting "Celestron Nexstar GPS/SLT/SE" Wich uses SkyFi, you can disable autodetect and manually introduce the IP and Port Number.
Why not having the same options for the SkyQ (Celestron WiFi)?
That way we will be able not only to connect In LAN but also through Internet.
