SkySafari 5 Pro | Reticle Positioning Delayed/Sticks/Freezes On Galaxy Tab A But Not On Lenovo 8 Tab 2 (Solution: Disable Bluetooth)

I have a new (to me) Galaxy Tab A (Android 7.0.1) I'm using for SkySafari 5 Pro. The tablet reads the scope encoders through an AstroDevices Nexus WiFi connection. I noticed that the reticle was "sticking"  for a few seconds when moving the scope and then quickly repositioning to the correct chart location. I didn't have this problem with the old Lenovo 8 Tab 2 (Android 5.1), so I connected both tablets simultaneously to test.  The Lenovo tracks the reticle smoothly even when the Galaxy "sticks". Any idea how I might make the Galaxy SkySafari reticle position track more smoothly?

Looks as if posting to this forum is pretty much “shouting into the darkness”, but if (theoretical) you don’t mind, I’ll continue talking to myself. The issue seems to be related to Bluetooth interfering with WiFi sporadically.  The “hitch” in reticle movement only occurs when Bluetooth is turned on, I suspect it has something to do with Boothtooth scanning for devices every 15 to 30 seconds.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you, theoretical forum reader.

    Update for theoretical forum reader:

Tried a Galaxy Tab S2 and the WiFi seems to stream smoothly while simultaneously allowing the BlueTooth device to function. Both the Tab A and the S2 run Android 7, so probably not an Android version issue. I hear some devices share resources between WiFi and BlueTooth, possibly a conflict there? Regardless, problem solved. When all else fails: throw money at it. Now I can join the rank and file and get back to ignoring this forum!

    Hi Bentley,

Thank you for troubleshooting and solving your own posted problem!  Your conclusion is both very interesting and informative.  We will have to keep this in mind for future reference.

With the beta testing and release of SkySafari 6 the community forums are very active for iOS and OS X.  We hope the Android community will also be as excited and as engaged in the forums in the coming months, as it is your turn next ;)

    We need you Bentley!

    Thanks!

Actually, my solution wasn’t “Disable BlueTooth” (as a mod added to the title.) The whole point of the thread was to find a method to use WiFi and BlueTooth simultaneously without temporary drop-outs on WiFi. Turns out this ability is very device dependent with more expensive devices seeming to be more adept. My theory was that some less expensive Android devices share resources between 2.4ghz WiFi and 2.4ghz BlueTooth and at certain time intervals BlueTooth scans for other devices within range and as a result the WiFi data stream to SkySafari is temporarily interrupted.

So ... the solution is: throw money at the problem until you find a tablet which handles both WiFi and BlueTooth smoothly.

So ... anyone want to buy four used Android tablets?
