Have not been able to get iPhone with SkyWire (Lightning) to communicate with Lumicon NGC Sky Vector. The iPhone running SkySafariPro recognizes the connection of the SkyWire. I am connecting with 3 wires from the DB9 (pins 2,3,5) to the RJ11 (2,3,4). I have found and tried many variations online about how to interconnect these pins. Also have attempted to cross-connect Tx and Rx. No combo seems to work. How can I determine if the SkyWire or the Sky Vector or my connections are to blame? Thanks!

I believe you have the correct pin connections. It is pretty unlikely the SkyWire has failed. I don't recall the last time w had a failure with those.
The next thing I would try to debug this is to see if you can connect to the Sky Vector for some other software. Maybe install Stellarium or some other planetarium program on a Mac and see if you can talk to the SkyVector from that. If that works then the problem is with SkyWire, SkySafari or your configuration. If it fails then it is your cable or the Sky Vector.

If Get Automatically is ON of Encoder Steps per Revolution, try turning it off and enter your encoder resolution manually. It is possible the Sky Vector chokes when being sent that command.
