All,
I'm connecting to my Macbook Pro through the SynScan controller and RJ45 - Serial/KeySpan Serial to USB adapter. Mac sees the Keyspan as a USB but I cannot establish any connection between Sky Safari and the mount. Appreciate any thoughts. Was told at NEAF it would work and hoping it will.
Thanks in advance..

Bill Tschumy Jay,
Yes, this should work. Two questions:
1. Are you sure you are using a SynScan serial cable? A generic serial cable will not work.
2. Did you star align the mount before trying to connect. I believe the SkyWatcher scopes will not talk to us unless they have been star aligned.

Keiron Smith Hi Jay,
Did you get this working?
Thanks!

Jay Sottolano Hello Keiron,
Perfect timing.. :-) I spoke with Keyspan Technical support as the software for OSX 10-12 is still "beta" and there are a few things to look for when installing. After installing the "driver" under OSX, the Sky Safari now recognized the Keyspan (actually two different entries were created - part of the "work in process") as a Serial1. Once I connected to the drive, everything worked as it should so I'm a happy camper that I've got a working OSX solution. Earlier versions of OSX drivers are not beta, but this beta one seems very solid. Thanks for asking!

Keiron Smith An excellent result, Jay! Thanks for letting us know. Enjoy SkySafari on OS X and clear skies!

Jay Sottolano Keiron,
A bit of a learning curve still :-) Need to try to see if I can control my DSLR Canon cameras (via SNAP) or CCDs either with the SynScan hand controller or through the App. Would be nice to incorporate as much as possible in one place.. :-) PHD2 will have to run alongside for sure.. :-)
If you do any beta testing of new function, etc. please feel free to include me if you would like. I do have a Windows machine as well (not quite as fast) so I would be able to test in both environments.
Thanks again for the follow up..
