Both commands are valid depending upon the exact scope type. What have you chosen?
Could you please include more of the log file? I'd like to see the command where slewing starts and when it stops.

Thanks for the log. Could you tell me which scope type you chose in SkySafari?
Is this a new scope or have you recently updated the firmware in it? This has been working fro folks for a long time. All we can think of is that iOptron has changed their firmware and broken something for us.
this is the data return from my mount with via serial:
version: [:V#] V1.00#
Mount info [:MountInfo#]: 8408
firmware [:FW1#]: 000000150302#
motor firmware [:FW2#]: 150302150302#
Scope Type: iOptron SmartEQ/iEQ/zEQ/ & 8407/8
We will be looking into this as soon as possible. I know we've had other customers using SkySafari with the mount. All I can guess is that iOptron changed something in new firmware that broke things.
i checked again, the command 'q' is working but the skysafari sends commands to get ra, dec very fast and "q" commands are ignored, when rate slider is high in "Scope Control", only move the slider to level 1 or 2 it was more responsive
We send the commands to get RA/Dec every 1/4 second by default. This is adjustable in the Telescope Setup settings.
If the q command is being ignored, then this sounds like a bug in iOptron's firmware.
The you talk about the rate slider, do you mean the Readout Rate in the Scope settings? This is not a slider. I iOptron's firmware works better with a slower polling rate then maybe 1 or 2 per second is appropriate.
So do you still think there is a bug in SkySafari, or are you satisfied?
i can work with that, but will be very useful for security reasons to have a button for stop the mount in the "Scope Control"
There is a Stop button when doing a GoTo. There should be no need for one when slewing. We have had this architecture for 8 years and it has not been necessary. I don't think we will add one because of (what looks like) a firmware problem in the mount. You might report this to iOptron.
We are going to revisit the iOptron scope control soon in order to support some new mounts. Perhaps we can look at this then to see if there is any workaround.
Hello Bill
I report the same issue. I have been using SkySafari with my iPad and SkyWire since July 2015 to control my scope mounted on the iOptron ZEQ-25. I never has any problem until now. Nothing has changed in my scope setup (no iOptron firmware upgrade) except the version of SkySafari (it worked well with SkySafari version 4 and 5), but fails to stop slewing with version 6.
Guy,
Do you still have SkySafari 5 installed to test with? If with the same hardware it works with SS5 but not SS6, that would be useful to know.
Hi Bill - Thanks for your quick turn around
Unfortunately, I deleted version 5 a while ago
GB-)
Can you reinstall it. SS5 and Ss6 can live happily on the same device if you have space for both. You will need to redownload it from your "purchased" list since it is no longer available directly on the store.
I will try to download and reinstall over the next few days, and compare the 2 versions. I will let you know how it goes
