Right out of the box I could connect to my iOptron AZ Mount Pro with SkySafari Pro 5. Now that I have upgraded to version.6 I cannot connect. My IPad is connected to the iOptron AZ Mount Pro network.

Keiron Smith If you can connect with SkySafari 5 Pro you can connect with SkySafari 6 Pro. The difference must in the settings somewhere.
- Are you using the built-in StarFi WiFi?
- Are you letting the iOptron AZ Mount Pro go through its automatic alignment/GPS Satellite acquisition sequence before trying to connect with SkySafari 6 Pro?
- What ScopeType setting have you selected in SkySafari 6 Pro? Is this the same as the one you have selected in SkySafari 5 Pro?
Thanks!

Zznussforeever Hi Keiron,
Is the StarFi WiFi the built in WiFi on the AZ Mount Pro, then yes. Also yes to the other 2 questions.
It worked so slick w/ ver. 5
Thanks for such quick responses.

Keiron Smith What ScopeType setting have you selected in SkySafari 6 Pro?

Keiron Smith - How do you know you are connected to the StarFi WiFi?
- What error message are getting from SkySafari 6 Pro?
- Can you connect now with SkySafari 5 Pro?
-
Zznussforeever 1. iPad WiFi setting shows check mark next to AZMP_8DC538 with a full strength signal.
2. Can not make a wireless connection Make sure you have joined network and entered it’s IP address correctly
3. I will have to download 5 again

Keiron Smith - What are your Telescope > Setup > Communication Settings? Please attach a screenshot of this here.
- In the Communication Settings, how do you connect via SkySafari to the StarFi WIFi (Should be answered in the screenshot, but requires the input is correct)
- A check mark next to AZMP_8DC538 with a full strength signal just means your iPad WiFi is connected to the StarFi WiFi network.
- And, what iOS are you running?
-
Zznussforeever iOS ver. Is 11.2.6
How do you take a screenshot within SkySafari on the iPad?
-
Keiron Smith Screenshot = hold the Power button, then press the Home button at the same time.
-
Zznussforeever I tried about 5 times, but now for some reason it allowed me to take a screenshot.

Step 4. Turn off Auto-Detect SkyFi. Change the IP Address to 10.10.100.254 and Port Number to 8899. Click Done.
Then click Scope and Connect to connect the mount.
Make sure the other settings are correct, per the manual.
Thanks!

Zznussforeever That’s embarrassing. Sorry you had to read my owners manual. It works like you said it should. Thanks Keiron.

Keiron Smith An excellent result, Mike! I'm very happy to help you get lift-off :) And, also, importantly, I learned a lot about your type of setup. So, thanks for bringing the issue here in the community forums.
Clear skies!

Zznussforeever I preach your software virtues at our state park star presentations. It’s such a handy, fast way to show a lot of objects with all that information to back it up. I use a 4” refractor on the iOptron Mount. People don’t have time for me to be hunting like I had to in the past.
Thanks again,
Mike
